WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY CONSULTATION?
Not unlike that of visiting a trusted physician, your consultation at Blackstone Detail is carried out with a strict set of vetting procedures. I open a professional dialogue that caters to each and every prospective client, which is centered around your desires and what you expect to achieve. Secondly, I conduct a thorough examination of your vehicle using a variety of tools that help me formulate an optimal solution according to variables surrounding the unique health of your vehicle. As trite as it sounds, I'm providing you with an experience where substantive data and integrity go hand in hand.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

I understand that there are unforeseeable events in life. As a common courtesy to everyone, I require at least a 24-hour notice prior to cancellation. In this way, another client may have an opportunity to grab your existing time slot. If I do not hear from you within a 24-hour period, you will be subject to a non-refundable $50 cancellation fee. Please note, there are also extenuating circumstances for those that opt-out of services which exceed a specified dollar amount. Details concerning these matters will be discussed in person during your consultation.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY VEHICLE PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED?

This is a question I'm often asked, and one that should be addressed according to the unique nature of your lifestyle. If your vehicle is classified as a daily commuter or one that generally sees the elements most of the time, it's best to have it maintained sooner rather than later. All too often, I see clients come in with vehicles that have reached the "point of no return", or vehicles that have already suffered irreparable damage. It's always best to stay ahead of the curve by booking an appointment before any damage starts to emerge. Peace of mind and a well-maintained vehicle gives you a first-class ticket to easy street.

WHEN SHOULD I HAVE MY VEHICLE PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED?

As soon as you take delivery of your new or used vehicle. The second rule of thermodynamics states that every piece of matter is in a constant process of chaos or degradation. There's a common misconception amongst those who possess a brand new vehicle thinking it's perfect. While there's some truth associated with this thought process, this is often a flawed perception of reality. A continued and regular maintenance regimen ensures "new" stays "new".

DO YOU PROVIDE QUOTES OVER THE PHONE?

Since every project is unique in its own way, it's vital for me to assess the condition of your vehicle in person prior to supplying any definitive quote. Of course, it's incumbent upon me to hand over definitive numbers rather than approximate prices, which can only open the door to confusion. Consequently, I only conduct business via consultation. I find that a one-on-one interaction creates a stronger foundation of transparency, which, in turn, only enhances overall communication. As I mention to all of my clients, I request that you schedule a very brief consultation. In this way, I can pair you with services that satisfy your automotive desires.

HOW LONG WILL MY SERVICE TAKE?
Every project is handled on a case-by-case basis. It's important that I provide you with an accurate waiting time. Once I assess the condition of your vehicle, then I can provide you with a definitive time frame. In addition, I always need to assess the condition of your vehicle in person prior to executing any form of work. Without this step, the potential of miscommunication and undelivered promises run rampant. This step also helps to ensure a strong level of transparency and accountability.
DO YOU PROVIDE SERVICES FOR OTHER METHODS OF TRANSPORT?
Yes, we certainly do. Not only do we cater to the needs of those who possess vehicles, but we also cover other forms of transport including, but not limited to, RV's, boats, agricultural machinery, and motorcycles. If you wish to inquire about our services related to any of the aforementioned, we ask that you contact us and we'll be more than happy to facilitate your individualized needs.

WHERE DO YOU PERFORM YOUR WORK?
I exclusively perform all of my work through my home, with a detail shop that's equipped with tools and resources that equate to the highest standards. As an added benefit, this helps to ensure optimal quality control and continuous assessment. Ultimately, my success is only measured by the results I produce for my clients. All in all, I wouldn't have it any other way.
WHAT ARE COATINGS AND WHY SHOULD I INVEST IN ONE?
Commonly referred to as "armor" for your vehicle's paintwork, coatings of varying descriptions are a recent discovery in the United States. Regardless of the age and condition of your vehicle, protecting your vehicle is paramount. For most of us, we're familiar with the old-fashioned application of a carnauba wax or paint sealant. Of course, the aforementioned methods have greatly evolved throughout the 21st century.
However, these processes are tedious, time-consuming, and are now officially outdated. With a protective coating, you're receiving superior protection that is substantially thicker than that of any carnauba wax or paint sealant. On average, a ceramic or polymer coating is anywhere between 150-400 times thicker than that of a traditional wax. When you put this into perspective, you're receiving substantial protection that's specifically formulated to protect year after year. Within the past twenty years, the industry for care care protection has flooded the marketplace, with E-commerce magnates such as eBay and Amazon introducing third-party "coatings". As a result, many discernible car enthusiasts have been deceived by products that only output mediocre results. In response to this epidemic, I only endorse a very small handful of experts and manufacturers that truly specialize in car care protection. Ultimately, this will become your long-term solution.
This one-time application will provide you with several years of protection without breaking a sweat. Interestingly, ceramic and polymer coatings each have their own unique set of characteristics. Some of these characteristics include hydrophobic properties (water-repelling/water beading), candy-shell or glass-like reflections, and other attractive features. More importantly, you'll receive resilient automotive paint protection from a variety of harmful variables including tree sap, brake dust, industrial fallout, bird droppings, UVA/UVB rays, excessive heat, and much much more. As a result, these coatings will provide you with additional features that will aid you within the process of washing your vehicle. Pretty cool, right?
Every time you expose your vehicle to the elements, you're accelerating the potential for damage of many descriptions. If not closely monitored, these unsightly nuisances have the potential of spreading through the substrate or bare metal of your vehicle. When this happens, you're left shoveling-out thousands of dollars for body shop repairs. Much to the dismay of many vehicle owners, any form of paintwork will eventually lose its luster and sheen over time. When faced with any project, it's imperative that you have the right tools for the right job. Consequently, the same concept rings true with car care protection. At Blackstone Detail, I'm a strong advocate for long-term protection and I consider this to be a prerequisite within the care of your vehicle. I would also refer you to my blog entitled, "Combating Paintwork Flaws & Defects", which illustrates the importance of protecting your paintwork, thus saving yourself a trip to the local body shop.

IS BLACKSTONE DETAIL AN INSURED COMPANY?

Blackstone Detail is fully-insured and carries the strongest level of protection within the industry. I'm prepared for any form of contingency, but my professionalism and extreme care allows me to keep any amount of risk at bay. At the end of the day, I'm treating each and every vehicle as if it were my very own.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?

I use Square for all of my card-based transactions. For those of you who aren't familiar with Square, Square is a secured transaction platform that allows you to charge any pre-approved credit or debit card electronically via smartphone or tablet. Once the transaction runs through, you have the choice of receiving a receipt via text message or by e-mail. I also accept cash and personal cheques.
WHAT  IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH TO DETAILING?

At Blackstone Detail, I approach every vehicle with a methodical formula. This formula is always customized depending on the fluctuation of many variables including condition, age, manufacturer, and works in tandem with a process that I like to call "minimization". When translated, this term simply refers to the amount of product(s) that I use in order to achieve the best results for your vehicle. As an IDA (International Detailing Association) certified technician, my approach is handled with a discriminating eye and extreme precision. The advantage of doing business with Blackstone Detail is that your vehicle will be handled with a delicate hand and an approach that's tailored to the specifications of your vehicle. I take a great deal of pride in executing this formula, which in turn produces a phenomenal end product. Needless to say, I take automotive restoration very seriously and my dedication is second to none. The idiom "good enough" is not in my vocabulary, nor do I subscribe to mediocrity of any description.

WHAT IS PAINT CORRECTION?

Throughout my years serving as a professional detailing technician, one question that often comes up in conversation is "What is paint correction?" Paint correction is the process by which a detailing technician eliminates a variety of harmful defects from your paintwork. Some of these imperfections come in the form of scratches, swirls, oxidation, solvent-popping, fish eye, etched bug guts, chemical staining, orange peel, and the list goes on and on. When it comes to making the exterior of your vehicle look its finest, I strongly endorse the process of removing all these defects and imperfections. Once this process is executed, the vehicle will then produce a healthy, mirror-like reflection. Furthermore, this is the most aesthetically-pleasing look that any vehicle owner would love to achieve. Conversely, when any of these imperfections are left untreated for long periods of time, this accelerates a breeding ground for significant damage, which could end in costly repairs through a body shop. My objective is to prevent any of these from disseminating across your paintwork. While everyone has particular needs, Blackstone Detail is a strong proponent for keeping these imperfections at bay, which is why Blackstone Detail categorizes itself as a business that specializes in paint restoration and new car care protection.

I JUST INVESTED IN A COATING, NOW WHAT HAPPENS?

First and foremost, let me be the first one to say congratulations on making a worthwhile investment. In the days, weeks, and even months that follow, it should be known that any form of a coating requires maintenance. Unfortunately, there's a common misconception amongst those that opt for a coating thinking that their paintwork is magically bulletproof; this could not be farther from the truth. Not unlike that of any other facet in life, regular maintenance and proper hand-washing techniques is the key to maximizing your recently applied coating. As I mention to all of my clients, I highly advise you to schedule a regular washing regimen with me every 1-2 weeks. By doing so, you're preserving the molecular structure and protection that currently exists on your paintwork. Ultimately, my job is to make sure that you're driving in confidence and this is an integral part of the process.
